DonaldHanchoninterviewquote

DonaldHanchoninterviewI am one lucky little Catholic. I have the honor of being related to a modern day Apostle, and I mean that in the most liturgical and ecclesiastical way. Not too many folks can say that their Uncle is the  Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Detroit!

Before you get into our interview below, you should know that Uncle Don is actually my Father’s cousin. However, my family rolls like Jesus did in that our extended family is considered just as awesome as our immediate family.

(0:28) You are the titular Bishop of Horreomargum. Not a whole lot of people know what being a “titularBishop” means and even less know where Horreomargum is. Could you explain that?

(1:36) Could you share some words on the importance of Hispanic ministry for the Church?

(3:43) The biggest rise in vocations here in the US has occurred in the Permanent Diaconate. Priestly vocations and women religious vocations are down. Why is this occurring?

(7:15) What does it mean to be Catholic in today’s culture especially with the inception of the HSS Mandate?

(8:30) Rumor mill tells us that our diocese will be looking for a Bishop soon. What are the odds that we might see you around the diocese of Grand Rapids in a much more ecclesiastical way?

Thank you, Uncle Don. We are very proud of you and, on a personal note, you are an incredible man of virtue who I will look up to forever.
